Many residential garage doors can be painted or also com pre-painted in different colors. Please see your owner's manual for specific painting instructions. Most of our commercial doors can be powder coated & we offer many different colors to match the look of your home or building.

Yes, replacing only a section of your garage door is possible in some cases; however, depending on the extent of the damage or age of the door, the entire door may need to be replaced. R-Value is a measure of thermal efficiency, the higher the R-value the greater the insulating properties of the door. Many of C.H.I.'s garage doors are built with insulation, either polyurethane or polystyrene. To indicate the effectiveness of the insulated garage door, each door is rated with an R-value. The higher the R-value, the better the insulation properties and the greater the resistance is to heat flow.

The top section of the door must be reinforced with a horizontal strut, which is the same length as the door width when installing an opener. The garage door opener bracket will attach below the strut.

I have a low ceiling in my garage. Will a garage door and opener work in this space?

Yes. A residential garage door requires a minimum of 4 1/2” of headroom space. Your garage door system may need a low-headroom track system or a low-headroom-torsion rear-track system. For a garage door opener, you will need slightly more headroom (about 6 1/2” minimum).
